Epithalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) modeled on epithalamin, a bovine pineal-gland polypeptide fraction. Research from Khavinson's group at the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology has examined its effects on telomerase expression, melatonin-axis function, and extended lifespan in animal models. Human studies most consistently report sleep architecture improvements, particularly enhanced delta-sleep phases, within the first several days of pulsed dosing.
