KPV is the three-amino-acid C-terminal tail of Îą-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (Îą-MSH 11-13). Unlike full-length Îą-MSH, KPV does not engage MC1R-driven pigmentation, but research models show it retains Îą-MSH's anti-inflammatory activity â suppressing NF-ΚB signaling, reducing pro-inflammatory cytokine production, and accelerating mucosal repair in models of colitis, dermatitis, and wound healing. Its small size allows oral, topical, and enteric-coated research formulations.
